Monday 18th May, 2009

I had set my alarm for 6am, knowing me it would awhile to actually get out of bed! I was right :-) Plus getting up early let me make sure i wasn't going to forget anything! Which i am very prone to doing! But i think i didn't forget anything- at least nothing important.

8:15am- Grandparents arrive exactly at the time grandma said they would, i used to be surprised at that.. Not anymore. They only stayed 15min to say hi and make sure i was ready before we got on the road.

9:15am- Drove through a small town called Wickenburg, it was so cute! Very old western! Still had 240 miles (386 km) before we reached Vegas

11:15am to 12:30pm- (Noticing a pattern there?) Got to Kingman had had lunch at a place called 'Cracker Barrel', it was alright. Had a sandwich.. Friggin' huge too! Why does everything have to be super sized big?

1pm- I saw my first dust devil thing.. We actually drove through one.

1:30pm- Got to Hoover Dam, I wasn't expecting to be so boring! We didn't stay long there. We had to drive back over it on Wednesday so we decided to stop and walk across it then.

3pm- Finally made it to our hotel, Polo Towers, initially to start off with i would have had to share a room with my grandparents. But luckily they got the option to upgrade and get the adjoining studio apartment room too, which they did! So i had my own room. Bliss! We were on the 15th floor! From my little balcony i could see directly across and a bit to the side of the Bellagio and Ceaser's Palace. We were right in between the MGM and Planet Hollywood- so right on the Strip!

5:30pm- We decided to leave the hotel and go wander around the MGM and then across to New York, New York. That was so pretty! While in the MGM we went and saw the Lion Habitat.

6:30pm- We went back to the MGM for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, I had a yummy turkey wrap and smoothie for dinner. The waiter was very cute too :-P. By the time we had finished eating it was dark enough that the lights were starting to come on!

8pm- I decided that i wanted to go up to the top of the Effiel Tower while we were in Paris :-) Grandpa decided to come up with me while grandma stayed on ground level. We had to wait ages to get onto the elevator but it was so worth it! The view was amazing! It isn't as high as the Stratosphere but i didn't go up there so i didn't care.

9:45 to 10:15- We we're able to catch to water displays at the Bellagio, all i can say it that they are amazing!! You are just awed by them!

10:30pm- While on our way back to the hotel, i was stopped by a street magician. He handed me 4 quarters and asked me if they were real or not- they were. The guy who was doing the trick was very cute, anyway he did a cool trick with that and then he made a $5 bill float. The guy who had handed me the 4 quarters did 2 magic tricks as well. It was fun to watch. I also walked past a Elvis!

11:15pm- Finally got back to my room, my feet were killing me! I was only wearing jandels! Not practical!
