7am- I hear grandma and grandpa leave to go to the breakfast buffet, i have no idea where that is so i just turn the tv on and get ready cos were going to see the Grand Canyon today. I end up getting breakfast at McDonalds at 9am i got my Iced Caramel Coffee- the first of 3.
9:30am- We enter the National Park, it's a bit of a drive (not that long really) to get to the village. Unfortunately the suns not out and the sky's not blue. So i couldnt get really breathtaking shots. We caught the buses that drove out to Hermits Rest thats near the end of the rim walk. You could get out at any of the stops and then stay as long as you wanted then just catch the next bus that past you. Was kind of nice. It was pretty, vastly huge! I was shocked at how huge it really is.
2pm- Left the park and headed back towards McDonalds for lunch, the town didn't have many choices. I got my 2nd Iced Caramel Coffee and also a M&M McFlurry! I haven't had one of those for years! Does the McDonalds in NZ still sell them, hmm?
5pm- Arrived at our hotel in Sedona, while on the trip i got my 3rd and final iced coffee of the day :-) im not really addicted to them, i just needed the caffeine to make it through the long day. But by 11pm it was time for sleep, nothing else to do.

Wednesday 20th May, 2009
7am- After finally going to sleep a little after 1am, waking up that early wasn't actually that bad! I needed the extra time to pack my bag and make coffee! I ended up drinking 2 cups by 9am and was sitting and waiting in my room.
10am- Grandma finally came and told me that they were getting ready to check out. Took 'em long enough. After we checked out we went across the road to the little mall to go to Ben and Jerry's. Of course grandma had a coupon she needed to use. They ended up getting ice-cream while i got a "Life's A Beach" smoothie! It had Mango Mango sorbet, pinapples, bananas, orange juice and mangos in it. YUMMY!
11:15am- Arrived at Hoover Dam. This is were i made the assumption in Mondays post that it's boring! We walked over half of the dam but i was bored. Saw a cute guy too. Left Hoover Dam a little after 12pm. On a side note- grandma was starting to really drive me insane!
1:30pm- Got to Kingman and had lunch at KFC, that didn't take long we were back on the road at 2pm.
3:40pm- Grand Canyon is 46 miles away. Not close enough
4:30pm- Finally arrived and checked into our motel for the night. Ugh shared room. We decided that we would go to the 6pm showing of this Grand Canyon 30min movie at the local imax. It was actually interesting and pretty cool picture!
7pm- Got McDonalds for dinner, thats when i fell in love with their Caramel Iced Coffees!! Delish!!
10pm- Early night for me, well only cos they were gonna turn off the lights. 1am i wake up to grandmas heavy breathing/snoring!! Save me

7:30am- Feels to early to wake up! Ugh, i could have, should have, sleep for another hour but i didn't want to waste time laying in bed :-) I mean i wasn't goiong anywhere for awhile, but when your on a trip it doesnt matter where - you can never stay asleep for long. Well i know i can't.
8am- Try not to laugh at me, but i was having soo much trouble trying to work out how to use the coffee-maker! I've never used one before! I had no clue where i was supposed to put water, i mean i knew i needed water in it! I gave up and went over to have breakfast in my grandparents room, i also got grandpa to show me how to use the coffee-maker. Im not a big coffee drinker, but i felt like i needed the caffine to survive a day with my grandma. I was right.
10am- Grandma had decided that we would drive out and around Red Rock Canyon. It's pretty but not a must see. Trust me on that! Wasn't that long a drive out there, 30-40 minutes i'd guess at. I had my ipod on at that stage. I liked the first part of the drive, but after that it was rather boring.
1pm- Lunchtime! I was starving at that stage! Had lunch at Applebees. While we ate grandma asked if i wanted to go back to the hotel and relax or see more of Vegas. I choose the relaxing part! I needed a break from her, I know you are probably thinking i am mean and everything- but even my cousin Jen agrees with me!
5pm- After a nice relaxing afternoon we were supposed to leave but me and grandpa got caught up in an episode of Charmed :-) We ended up leaving at 6pm instead. We caught the Deuce (double decker bus- its covered. i was disapointed!) outside Planet Hollywood and were on that till we got to Venice! Now Venice was totally breathtakingly gorgeous! Too me anyway. Obviously doesn't compare to the real thing. We walked around there for awhile before catching the Deuce downtown to Freemont Street to watch the Freemont Street light dispaly!
8pm- The show was late but only because it wasn't dark enough, it started at 8:30 instead. We managed to catch that one and the 10pm one. The first one wasn't amazing, it was cool but not "wow!". We had dinner at Tony Romas in between the two shows. I was glad we stuck around cos the 2nd one was SOOO much better! How could it not be when it was done to Queen?! By the time that was over alot of people had the same idea as we did to leave, ugh, the line for the bus was HUGE! Luckily 2 buses came at the same time.
11pm- Finally got to my room, but was way to wired to sleep! I watched what i could of the water show at the Bellagio then decided at 1am i really, really, needed to get some sleep!

Monday 18th May, 2009
I had set my alarm for 6am, knowing me it would awhile to actually get out of bed! I was right :-) Plus getting up early let me make sure i wasn't going to forget anything! Which i am very prone to doing! But i think i didn't forget anything- at least nothing important.
8:15am- Grandparents arrive exactly at the time grandma said they would, i used to be surprised at that.. Not anymore. They only stayed 15min to say hi and make sure i was ready before we got on the road.
9:15am- Drove through a small town called Wickenburg, it was so cute! Very old western! Still had 240 miles (386 km) before we reached Vegas
11:15am to 12:30pm- (Noticing a pattern there?) Got to Kingman had had lunch at a place called 'Cracker Barrel', it was alright. Had a sandwich.. Friggin' huge too! Why does everything have to be super sized big?
1pm- I saw my first dust devil thing.. We actually drove through one.
1:30pm- Got to Hoover Dam, I wasn't expecting to be so boring! We didn't stay long there. We had to drive back over it on Wednesday so we decided to stop and walk across it then.
3pm- Finally made it to our hotel, Polo Towers, initially to start off with i would have had to share a room with my grandparents. But luckily they got the option to upgrade and get the adjoining studio apartment room too, which they did! So i had my own room. Bliss! We were on the 15th floor! From my little balcony i could see directly across and a bit to the side of the Bellagio and Ceaser's Palace. We were right in between the MGM and Planet Hollywood- so right on the Strip!
5:30pm- We decided to leave the hotel and go wander around the MGM and then across to New York, New York. That was so pretty! While in the MGM we went and saw the Lion Habitat.
6:30pm- We went back to the MGM for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, I had a yummy turkey wrap and smoothie for dinner. The waiter was very cute too :-P. By the time we had finished eating it was dark enough that the lights were starting to come on!
8pm- I decided that i wanted to go up to the top of the Effiel Tower while we were in Paris :-) Grandpa decided to come up with me while grandma stayed on ground level. We had to wait ages to get onto the elevator but it was so worth it! The view was amazing! It isn't as high as the Stratosphere but i didn't go up there so i didn't care.
9:45 to 10:15- We we're able to catch to water displays at the Bellagio, all i can say it that they are amazing!! You are just awed by them!
10:30pm- While on our way back to the hotel, i was stopped by a street magician. He handed me 4 quarters and asked me if they were real or not- they were. The guy who was doing the trick was very cute, anyway he did a cool trick with that and then he made a $5 bill float. The guy who had handed me the 4 quarters did 2 magic tricks as well. It was fun to watch. I also walked past a Elvis!
11:15pm- Finally got back to my room, my feet were killing me! I was only wearing jandels! Not practical!
